Kittitas County <br />Prosecutor <br /> <br />Agenda Staff Report <br /> <br />AGENDA DATE: <br />12/21/2021 <br /> <br />ACTION REQUESTED: <br />Adopt the attached ordinance related to imposition of a mental health tax pursuant to RCW 82.14.460. <br /> <br />BACKGROUND: <br />After due notice, the BOCC conducted a public hearing on December 7, 2021 to consider imposition of a <br />mental health tax authorized by RCW 82.14.460. After public comment and deliberation, the BOCC voted <br />2 to 1 to approve the tax. The attached ordinance memorializes that action. <br /> <br />INTERACTION: <br />The Prosecutor's Office has worked with the BOCC and the Auditor's Offices in crafting the needed <br />ordinance. <br /> <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Approve the ordinance imposing a mental health tax authorized by RCW 82.14.460. <br /> <br />HANDLING: <br />Return a copy of the executed ordinance to the Prosecutor's Office and to Ms. Pless at the Auditor's Office. <br /> <br />LEAD STAFF: <br />Neil Caulkins <br />
