Kittitas County <br />District Court, Upper <br /> <br />Agenda Staff Report <br /> <br />AGENDA DATE: <br />12/7/2021 <br /> <br />ACTION REQUESTED: <br />The Upper and Lower Kittitas County District Court request approval of Grant Agreement GRT-22439 <br />between the Washington State Administrative Office of the Courts and Kittitas County District Courts <br />(Upper and Lower). <br /> <br />BACKGROUND: <br />The Washington State Administrative Office has awarded the Kittitas County District Courts (Upper and <br />Lower) a grant in the amount of $139,521.00 for the Therapeutic Court Program. This grant is to be used to <br />identify individuals before Lower and Upper Kittitas County District Court with substance use disorders or <br />other behavioral health needs and engage those individuals with community-based therapeutic interventions. <br />The Kittitas County Behavioral Health Court will focus on our high risk/high need repeat offender <br />population with substance use disorder and/or mental health diagnosis who have not been successful in the <br />traditional court model. <br /> <br />INTERACTION: <br />Agreement has reviewed and approved by Deputy Prosecuting Attorney Doug Mitchell. <br /> <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />I request approval of Grant Agreement - GRT 22439 between Washington State Administrative Office of <br />the Courts and Kittitas County District Courts (Upper and Lower). <br /> <br />HANDLING: <br />Please return 1 signed original to the Upper Kittitas County District Court and 1 signed original to the <br />Lower Kittitas County District Court. <br /> <br />LEAD STAFF: <br />Diana MacKenzie <br />
