BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />COUNTY OF KITTITAS <br />STATE OF WASHINGTON <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2021- <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF INTERLOCAL AGREEMENT <br />BETWEEN KITTITAS COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE AND THE WASHINGTON TRAFFIC <br />SAFETY COMMISSION <br />WHEREAS, RCW 39.34, the Interlocal Cooperation Act, provides the capability for <br />public agencies to cooperate by providing services and facilities for mutual advantage; and <br />WHEREAS, the Washington Traffic Safety Commission (WTSC) and Kittitas <br />County Sheriffs Office (KCSO) have the ability and desire to enter into such a cooperative <br />agreement, a copy of which is attached hereto; and <br />WHEREAS, the WTSC has and will provide overtime funding to law enforcement <br />agencies to conduct high visibility enforcement (HVA) traffic safety emphasis patrols and <br />related activities as outlined in the agreement in support of Target Zero priorities and; <br />WHEREAS, that funding facilitates the goals and duties of the Kittitas County <br />Sheriffs Office in improving the safety of the motoring public by providing these emphasis <br />patrols while reducing the fiscal impact on the County, <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED AND IT IS HEREBY ORDERED, That the <br />Agreement between Kittitas County Sheriffs Office and the Washington Traffic Safety <br />Commission for high visibility emphasis patrol is adopted and shall be filed consistent with <br />RCW 39.34.040. <br />ADOPTED this day of <br />2021. <br />BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />KITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON <br />Brett Wachsmith, Chair <br />Laura Osiadacz, Vice -Chair <br />Cory Wright, Commissioner <br />ATTEST: :APPROVED/4S TO FORM: <br />CLERK OF THE BOARD (— <br />Julie A.
