KITTITAS COUNTY <br />LAW AND JUSTICE STUDY SESSION MINUTES <br />COMMISSIONERS' AUDITORIUM, 205 WEST 5TH ROOM 109 - ELLENSBURG <br />Regular Meeting <br />WEDNESDAY 1 8:07 AM I A ri17, 2021 <br />Board members present: Chairman Brett Wachsmith and Commissioner Cory Wright (via WebEx). <br />Others via WebEx: Sheriff Clay Myers; Mark Cook, Public Works Director; Kady Porterfield, Event <br />Center Director; Jim Goeben, IT Director; Doug Fessler, IT; Jeremy Reynolds, Sheriff's Office IT and <br />Lisa Young, HR Director. <br />Countywide SecuritySystem Planning — Chairman Wachsmith indicated he has had conversations with <br />others as to why we would go with a different system. Jim Goeben suggested discussing at a security <br />meeting and that it would be nice to have one system to include door locks. Jim mentioned that after the <br />Security Meeting he can then make a recommendation to the Board. <br />Discuss/consider Board signature on a Letter of Agreement for Line — Sheriff Myers mentioned the <br />CJTC's Physical Abilities Test (PAT) required a change to the test, so language would change in CBA. <br />We have an agreement with the Union, no fiscal impact to Line. Request Board to approve. <br />Commissioner Wright moved to approve; Chairman Wachsmith seconded the motion. Motion approved. <br />Discussion on PAT Test for Corrections — Sheriff Myers indicated Corrections is modified as well as the <br />one the Board just approved. Same test, fiscal impact is $2,500 a year with increase in our budget yearly. <br />Corrections Officers receive ten dollars less now. Making this fitness pay the same across the board for <br />Union personnel. Commissioner Wright also agrees. <br />Upper County Shop/SAR — Sheriff indicated we are getting close to a new shop and wants to start the <br />process. Sheriff Myers said he would like to man SAR in the Cie Elum area and utilize space. Chairman <br />Wachsmith mentioned having a joint meeting with City of Cle Elum to have a discussion before we move <br />to a lease. Sheriff Myers to schedule the meeting. <br />At 8:37 a.m. Chairman Wachsmith announced the Board would recess into an Executive Session for 10 <br />minutes to consider matters affecting national security. No action was anticipated. <br />At 8:47 a.m. the Board reconvened out of Executive Session.
