KITTITAS COUNTY <br />DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS <br />AGENDA STAFF REPORT <br />AGENDA DATE: April 6, 2021 <br />ACTION REQUESTED: Request to Set a Public Hearing for May 4, 2021 at 2pm local time <br />to consider an irrigation franchise with Matt and Jessi Webb along <br />Badger Pocket Road. <br />BACKGROUND: Matt and Jessi Webb have applied for an irrigation franchise to <br />install irrigation pipe along Badger Pocket Road. The proposed <br />franchise is to install a 6" irrigation pipe for continued irrigation of <br />said property that will be hindered by a new development abutting <br />the subject property. This Franchise will allow the applicants <br />continued access to irrigation water. <br />Additionally, a neighboring property owner, David Moore, was <br />granted an irrigation franchise along the same road. Staff is <br />granting permission to the applicants to install their irrigation pipe <br />at the same time as Mr. Moore with the same Contractor to negate <br />the need to dig up Mr. Moore's pipe after installation and complete <br />the project prior to irrigation water being turned on. <br />Staff will require the applicants to secure a right of way permit <br />prior to any work being conducted and coordinate scheduling with <br />the Contractor for installation. <br />The Franchise Application is complete, and the appropriate <br />application fee has been collected. <br />INTERACTION: Public Works <br />RECOMMENDATION: Set a public hearing on May 4, 2021 at 2:00 pm and advertise <br />accordingly, to consider an irrigation franchise with Matt and Jessi <br />Webb along Badger Pocket Road. <br />ATTACHMENTS: Franchise Application <br />LEAD STAFF: Mark Cook <br />Director of Public Works <br />
