KITTITAS COUNTY <br />CDS STUDY SESSION MINUTES <br />BOCC CONFERENCE ROOM, WEBEX <br />Regular Meeting <br />MONDAY 1:30 PM February 22, 2021 <br />Board members present via WebEx: Chairman Brett Wachsmith and <br />Commissioner Cory Wright. <br />Others via WebEx: Dan Carlson, Mike Flory, Bridget Pechtel, <br />Jeremy Johnston, and Jessica Miller Community Development <br />Services; Mark Cook, Arden Thomas, Darren Case, Joshua <br />Fredrickson, Nicole Ogan, Rebecca Cruse and Candie Leader, <br />Public Works; Neil Caulkins, Prosecuting Attorney; and three (3) <br />members of the public. <br />At 1:30 pm Chairman Wachsmith opened the Community Development <br />Services Study Session. <br />2018 ENERGY CODE ALTERNATIVE CREDITS <br />CDS Building Official Mike Flory presented examples of the <br />energy code and how to get to six (6) credits, instead of three <br />and a half (3 %) that was required on the last code cycle. <br />OVERVIEW OF PROPOSED PERIODIC UPDATE AMENDMENTS TO THE SHORELINE <br />MASTER PROGRAM <br />CDS Long Range Planner Bridget Pechtel presented an overview of <br />the proposed periodic amendments and changes to the Shoreline <br />Master Program. The Planning Commission just held the joint <br />public hearing with the Department of Ecology. CDS is currently <br />working on the initial draft for the initial determination by <br />Ecology, which should be completed by the end of the month. The <br />Department of Ecology will then have a 30 -day time period to <br />review it. The Department of Ecology's initial determination of <br />our amendments and the Planning Commissioner's recommendation <br />will be brought before the Board of County Commissioners in May <br />for a public hearing. The deadline for completion is June 30th. <br />The Board of County Commissioners requested SMP PowerPoint be <br />provided to them prior to the public hearing. <br />2021-2-22 MINUTES 1 <br />
