BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />COUNTY OF KITTITAS <br />STATE OF WASHINGTON <br /> <br />Ordinance NO. 2021-_______ <br /> <br />WHEREAS, The health and safety of the people of Kittitas County is of great concern to the <br />Board of Kittitas County Commissioners; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, In February of 2021, the Washington State Building Code Council completed <br />adoption of the 2018 International Building Code, Residential Code, Mechanical <br />Code, Fire Code, Uniform Plumbing Code and Washington State Energy Code, <br />Wildland Urban Interface Code and Swimming Pool and Spa Code, all with <br />Washington State Amendments and requires all Cities and Counties to have in <br />effect these codes; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, The aforementioned building codes with State amendments are mandated by the <br />State to become effective February 1, 2021; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Kittitas County has previously adopted the International Property Maintenance <br />Code; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, A copy of each code proposed for adoption by reference was filed with the <br />Kittitas County Auditor at least 10 days before the potential adoption; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, 10-days’ notice was given before the public hearing; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, A public hearing was held on March 2nd, 2021 to consider the adoption of the <br />International Codes with Washington State Amendments; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, At said public hearing, the Board of County Commissioners adopted the <br />aforementioned building and fire life-safety codes; and <br /> <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED, that the Board of County Commissioners, after due <br />deliberation and in the best interest of the public, does hereby approve the amendments to Title <br />14, Title 18 and Title 20 of Kittitas County Code as rewritten, the red-line version to which is <br />shown on Attachment A, Attachment B and Attachment C. <br /> <br />BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED, that the Prosecuting Attorney’s Office is charged with correcting <br />any scrivener’s errors it notices and determines arose out of the amendment and enactment <br />process. No further authorization will be required from the Board of County Commissioners for <br />the Prosecuting Attorney’s Office to effect correction of scrivener’s errors relating to this
