KITTITAS COUNTY <br />SOLID WASTE AND MAINTENANCE MINUTES <br />WEBEX, 205 WEST 5TH ROOM 108 - ELLENSBURG <br />Regular Meeting <br />TUESDAY 1 2:00 PM I January12, 2021 <br />Board members present Brett Wachsmith, Chairman, Laura Osiadacz, Vice -Chairman and <br />Commissioner Cory Wright. <br />Others: Patti Johnson, Lisa Lawrence, Kady Porterfield and one member of the public. <br />Meeting called to order at 2:00 p.m. <br />Discuss Recycling Development Grant Application: Patti informed the Board about a Grant <br />Opportunity from the Department of Ecology that is only available to Counties, Cities and <br />Universities. Patti said that she reached out to the University, the Economic Development Group <br />and Yakima County to put a package together on glass and other recycling options including a <br />feasibility study. Discussion was held on the short turn around on the Grant, that it is 100% pass <br />through and that it coincides with the Contamination Outreach and Reduction Plan (CROP) that <br />is required by the State to be in place by July 1St <br />Transfer Station Update: Patti informed the Board that the final grant application was <br />submitted last Friday and that she should hear by the end of January if it goes to the next step for <br />review and if so, the next schedule update is June of 2021. <br />Patti informed the Board that the final 100% design for the New Transfer Station Utilities and <br />Road design will be submitted to the City next week for review and if approved construction <br />would begin in April. A brief discussion was held on names for the street and the deadline is <br />Friday. <br />Update on Facility Dude: Patti informed the Board that Facility Dude will be on site Monday in <br />the Courthouse to begin facility assessment. <br />Update on Shady Brook Demo Project: Patti informed the Board that the original phase of the <br />project was finished, that she is finalizing paperwork on three more units and has asked the <br />Contractor for a change order since the contract has not been closed. Patti stated that Fulcrom <br />will be in to perform the hazard assessment on the additional units. <br />Discuss 1208 University Way: Patti informed the Board that someone was interested in the <br />wood from the building. Discussion was held on taking the building down or leaving it in place <br />until a plan is place. Further discussion was held on the Event Center using it for storage. <br />Discuss Bowling Alley Project: Patti informed the Board that she received an email from Tom <br />Beckwith that included several different options for the project that will allow for an overarching <br />RFP: <br />2021-01-12 MINUTES <br />
