Eisenhower, first proclaimed <br />November I I as Veterans Duy, calling on Americans to solemnly remember <br />the sacrifices of all those who fought so valiantly, on the seas, in the air, and <br />on foreign shores, to preserve our heritage of freedom; and <br />WHEREAS, President Eisenhower asked Americans to commit ourselves to <br />the task of promoting peace so that our Veterans' efforts shall not have been <br />in vain; and <br />WHEREAS, the men and women of our armed forces continue to be an <br />inspiration to all of us through their demonstration of courage, leadership <br />and commitment in service to our community and country; and <br />WHEREAS, the greatest acknowledgement of our freedom is to honor our <br />armed forces veterans who have sacrificed, and in many instances, paid the <br />ultimate price for our freedom; and <br />NOW, THEREFORE, the Kittitas County Board of Commissioners proudly joins <br />the rest of our nation to salute and give special honor and recognition to the <br />men and women who served us in our armed forces and encourages all <br />citizens to promote peace. <br />Dated this 9th day of November 2020. <br />THE KITTITAS COUNTY <br />BOARD O CO ONERS <br />B hairman <br />ra Vice-Chairman <br />///,ililtr\ <br />eKj Clerk of the Board <br />Cory Wright, Commissioner
