SEPTEMBER 24, 2020 <br /> <br />Board members present: Chairman, Brett Wachsmith; Vice-Chairman <br />Laura Osiadacz & Commissioner Cory Wright. <br /> <br />Others: Mandy Buchholz, Deputy Clerk of the Board II; Taylor <br />Crouch, Deputy Clerk of the Board I; Kady Porterfield, KVEC <br />Director; Stephanie Hartung, Deputy Prosecutor. <br /> <br />SPECIAL MEETING KVEC UPDATES COMMISSIONERS <br /> <br />At 10:00 a.m. Chairman Wachsmith opened a Special Meeting to <br />receive an update from Kady Porterfield an Event Center updates. <br /> <br />UPDATE FAIR CONTRACT EVENT CENTER <br /> <br />Ms. Porterfield updated the Board on some outstanding issues <br />with a 2020 Fair Entertainer Contract. She outlined the work <br />done by her Deputy Prosecutor and our Budget & Finance Manager <br />Judy Pless. Stephanie Hartung, Deputy Prosecutor presented the <br />next steps in the event that they must pursue litigation. <br /> <br />The Board stated that they will anticipate further conversations <br />in the future. <br /> <br />DISCUSSION BUDGET UPDATE EVENT CENTER <br /> <br />Ms. Porterfield updated the Board on her Budget. She stated that <br />she had just received the Fair Board’s Budget for 2021 and the <br />County Engineer was out to inspect the Posse Barns and he is <br />very concerned. She stated that they will need to be fixed and <br />that it will be a big hit to the budget. She also stated that <br />there will be significant expenses for the Buckaroo Stands and <br />reviewed the funding opportunities that will be impacted due to <br />having no County Fair or events. Commissioner Osiadacz informed <br />Ms. Porterfield of some possible grant funding opportunities <br />that may off-set the cost. <br /> <br />CONTRACT DH CONTRACT COMMISSIONERS <br /> <br />Item Pulled.
