BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />COUNTY OF KITTITAS <br />STATE OF WASHINGTON <br />RE,SOLUTION NO. 2O2O -+I <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING NAMING THE COLINTY OWNED PROPERTY AT THE <br />PONDS ON NANEUM ROAD NORTH OF VANTAGE HIGHWAY TO 'THOMPSON PARK' <br />WHEREAS, RCW 36.32.430 provides that: "The Board of County Commissioners is <br />authorized to designate the name of any park established by the County."; and <br />WHEREAS, the purpose is to rename this property in honor of Deputy Ryan Thompson for <br />his dedication to his service in Law Enforcement as he was murdered in the line of duty on March <br />19,2019;and <br />WHEREAS, the renaming of this property in his name recognizes not only his service but <br />his beliefs as he was an outdoor recreation enthusiast enjoying fishing, hiking, camping and <br />otherwise enjoying the great outdoors; therefore, renaming this property in his honor would be a <br />tribute to Ryan, his service and his family; and <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE, IT RESOLVED AND IT IS HEREBY ORDERED, that this <br />Resolution be adopted pursuant to RCW 36.32.430, renaming the County owned property at the <br />ponds on Naneum Road north of Vantage Highway to "Thompson Park". <br />ADOPTED this 4^day of 0. <br />BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />CO WASHINGTON <br />^.--s^- <br />llill t,,/ <br />OMM/5 <br />V <br />SilAt <br />ilil tll <br />ATTE <br />OF THE BOARD <br />Clerk of the Board- Julie Kjorsvik D.
