KITTITAS COUNTY <br />BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />AGENDA STAFF REPORT <br /> <br />AGENDA DATE: July 7, 2020 <br /> <br />ACTION REQUESTED: Set a Public Hearing to consider a Sales & Use Tax for Chemical <br />Dependency or Mental Health Treatment Services or <br />Therapeutic Court as provided by RCW 82.14.460. <br /> <br /> <br />BACKGROUND: On February 5, 2020 & April 28, 2020 the Kittitas County Board <br />of Commissioners met in a Special Meeting receive a <br />Presentation regarding the importance of the County <br />implementing a Mental Health and Behavioral Health Tax. <br /> <br />INTERACTION: On June 29, 2020 Staff was directed to prepare a Legal notice for <br />consideration on the July 7, 2020 Agenda. <br /> <br />RECOMMENDATION: Set a Public Hearing to consider a Sales & Use Tax for Chemical <br />Dependency or Mental Health Treatment Services of <br />Therapeutic Court as provide by RCW 82.14.460., to be held on <br />July 23, 2020 at 6:00 p.m. in the Commissioners Auditorium and <br />to authorize the Clerk to publish said notice. <br /> <br />HANDLING: 1 – Clerk of the Board <br /> 1 copy – Auditors office & Prosecutor’s office <br /> BOCC Staff to publish legal notice <br /> <br />ATTACHMENTS: Notice of Public Hearing <br /> <br />LEAD STAFF: Brett Wachsmith, Chairman <br /> <br />
