KITTITAS COUNTY <br />DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS <br />AGENDA STAFF REPORT <br />AGENDA DATE: July 7, 2020 <br />ACTION REQUESTED: Request to Approve the Resolution Establishing a <br />County Road Number conducting a clear zone <br />inventory for safety analysis pursuant to a highway <br />safety grant. <br />BACKGROUND: Kittitas County has been selected to receive <br />$70,900.00 (Federal Highway Safety Improvement <br />Program) towards conducting a clear zone inventory <br />for safety analysis. This inventory will inform us of <br />unsafe roadside elements close to the traveled way. <br />The project will also evaluate mitigation measures <br />such as removal, relocation, shielding and <br />delineation. Factors being evaluated will include <br />crash severity potential, maintenance needs and <br />costs. <br />INTERACTION: <br />Public Works <br />RECOMMENDATION: Approve the Resolution establishing a county road <br />number conducting a clear zone inventory for safety <br />analysis pursuant to a Federal Highway Safety <br />Improvement Program grant. <br />HANDLING: Return two (1) originals to Public Works <br />ATTACHMENTS: Resolution establishing CRP No 301-20 <br />LEAD STAFF: Mark Cook, Director <br />
