KITTITAS COUNTY <br />DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS <br />AGENDA STAFF REPORT <br />AGENDA DATE: June 16, 2020 <br />ACTION REQUESTED: Request to Approve a Resolution Authorizing the Chair's <br />signature on the Local Agency Federal Aid Project <br />Prospectus for the Bullfrog Road Project, CRP 300-20. <br />BACKGROUND: On January 15, 2020 Kittitas County Board of County <br />Commissioners put in place a temporary speed reduction on <br />Bullfrog Road responding to unforeseen significant <br />roadway deterioration (Resolution 2020-001). This speed <br />reduction was to minimize damage to the roadway and to <br />vehicles using Bullfrog Road. Kittitas County Public <br />Works has been preparing a design and assembling a <br />construction contract advertisement to repair the damaged <br />and deteriorating roadway. <br />This Project Prospectus covers the Federal Funding portion <br />for the Surface Transportation Block Grant and Highway <br />Infrastructure Funding construction phase and needs to be <br />approved by WSDOT Local Programs. The approval needs <br />to happen so W SDOT can obligate the federal funds for the <br />construction phase. <br />Public Works is preparing to advertise for construction in <br />July 2020. This requires the Local Agency Federal Aid <br />Project Prospectus to be signed and approved by the Chair <br />of the BOCC. <br />INTERACTION: Public Works <br />RECOMMENDATION: Approve the Resolution Authorizing the Chair's signature <br />on the Local Agency Federal Aid Project Prospectus for the <br />Bullfrog Road Project, CRP 300-20. <br />HANDLING: Return two (2) originals to Public Works <br />ATTACHMENTS: Resolution, Local Agency Federal Aid Project Prospectus <br />LEAD STAFF: Mark Cook, Director <br />
