KITTITAS COUNTY <br />DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS <br />AGENDA STAFF REPORT <br />AGENDA DATE: June 2, 2020 <br />ACTION REQUESTED: Conduct a Public Hearing to consider a Speed <br />Reduction on Cove Road and Amend Kittitas <br />County Code Section 10.08.020 Speed Limits. <br />BACKGROUND: Responding to a speed study request from citizens <br />on Cove Road following a road fatality in February <br />2020, Kittitas County Department of Public Works <br />conducted a speed study and is now presenting the <br />findings and receive public testimony. <br />INTERACTION: <br />Public Works and the Sheriff's Office. <br />RECOMMENDATION: Conduct a Public Hearing to consider reducing the <br />speed along Cove Road and amending Kittitas <br />County Code Section 10.08.020 Speed Limits. <br />Public Works recommends maintaining the current <br />speed limit. <br />HANDLING: Return one original to Public Works. <br />ATTACHMENTS: Engineer's Report; Ordinance; Code Amendment <br />LEAD STAFF: Mark Cook, Director <br />
