01/28/2019 MINUTES 1 COMMISSIONERS' MINUTES KITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON COMMISSIONER’S CONFERENCE ROOM SPECIAL MEETING MONDAY 10:30 A.M. JANUARY 28, 2019 Board members present: Chairman Cory Wright; Vice-Chairman Brett Wachsmith & Commissioner Laura Osiadacz. Others: Julie Kjorsvik, Clerk of the Board; Amy Cziske, Treasurer; Lisa Murray, Administrative Assistant; Chris Horner, Deputy Prosecutor; Pat Deneen & Ellie Deneen. SPECIAL MEETING SALE OF TAX TITLE PROPERTY COMMISSIONERS At 10:30 a.m. Chairman Wright opened a Special Meeting to consider a request to purchase Tax Title Property. Lisa Murray, Administrative Assistant reviewed an RCW that would allow the Board of County Commissioners to sell Tax Title Property without going out to bid as long as certain requirements were met. Pat Deneen described a project they were working on and indicated they were interested in purchasing a piece of Tax Title Property that is next to his property. He said it was brought to their attention by Amerititle and they are uncertain if the property even existed. Chris Horner, Deputy Prosecutor said if the property is contiguous and if the land is not buildable the Board of County Commissioners have the authority to not go out to bid and sell the property. Commissioner Wachsmith wanted to make sure that the Public Works Department did not want to retain the property for any reason. Mr. Deneen offered to obtain a letter from Mark Cook, Public Works Director/Interim Engineer and provide it to the Board. TAX TITLE PARCEL 201934 COMMISSIONERS Commissioner Osiadacz moved to sell Tax Title Property (Parcel Number 201934), pending the letter from the Public Works Department indicating they had no need for it, and to authorize the Treasurer to work with the applicant.
