2018-07-05 MINUTES 1 <br />COMMISSIONERS' MINUTES <br />KITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON <br />COMMISSIONERS CONFERENCE ROOM <br />SPECIAL MEETING <br /> <br />THURSDAY 1:30 P.M. JULY 5, 2018 <br /> <br />Board members present: Chairman Laura Osiadacz; Vice-Chairman <br />Obie O’Brien; and Commissioner Cory Wright. <br /> <br />Others: Mandy Buchholz, Deputy Clerk of the Board II; Neil <br />Caulkins, Deputy Prosecutor; Jerry Pettit, Auditor and one <br />member of the public. <br /> <br />SPECIAL MEETING NATIONAL PILT LITIGATION COMMISSIONERS <br /> <br />At 1:30 p.m. Chairman Laura Osiadacz opened a Special Meeting to <br />consider whether or not the County should participate in the <br />National PILT Litigation Class Action Lawsuit. <br /> <br />Neil Caulkins, Deputy Prosecutor explained the Official Notice <br />from the United States Court of Federal Claims and why this <br />option was before the Board. He stated that Congress had not <br />been adequately funding public lands and the County could <br />receive something like 1.3% back. He stated really there really <br />is no loss for the County to participate, as they will get some <br />amount of money back. <br /> <br />Commissioner O’Brien moved to authorize Deputy Caulkins to <br />obtain the appropriate signatures needed in order for the County <br />to proceed in the National PILT Litigation Class Action Lawsuit <br />on behalf of Kittitas County.
