2/26/2018 MINUTES 1
COMMISSIONERS' MINUTES
KITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON
COMMISSIONERS CONFERENCE ROOM
REGULAR MEETING

MONDAY 9:40 A.M. FEBRUARY 26, 2018

Board members present: Vice-Chairman Obie O’Brien & Commissioner
Paul Jewell. Excused: Chairman Laura Osiadacz.

Others: Mandy Buchholz, Deputy Clerk of the Board II; Robin Read,
Public Health Administrator; Tristen Lamb, EH Supervisor; Lisa
Young, HR Director.

REGULAR MEETING DEPARTMENT HEAD PUBLIC HEALTH

Robin Read, Public Health Administrator, requested the Board allow
her to offer her OSS Inspector a pay increase. She explained that
Yakima County Health District will be most likely extending an offer
to her within the first part of this week and she has indicated that
she would like to stay here but the support she would have along
with additional pay makes the position in Yakima appealing. Ms. Read
explained that the pay increase as well as bringing on another
person to allow for her current OSS Inspector to take any kind of
leave (vacation/sick) could be paid for through fees.

The Board authorized the pay increase noting it was an approximate
increase of $230.00 dollars per month. They stated that they are
interested in the additional person but need a better ideas of the
impacts to the fees. Ms. Read was directed to come back Tuesday
February 27, 2018 to discuss during the HR Study Session what she
finds out about the impacts to fees for the additional person. She
noted that the new person, if they move forward, would probably work
part-time for OSS and part-time for food inspection.

Meeting adjourned at 9:50 a.m.

KITTITAS COUNTY COMMISSIONERS
DEPUTY CLERK OF THE BOARD KITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON

Mandy Buchholz Obie O’Brien, Vice-Chairman
