COMMISSIONERS' MINUTES <br />KITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON <br />COMMISSIONERS' AUDITORIUM <br />SPECIAL MEETING <br />THURSDAY 10:00 AM NOVEMBER 10, 2016 <br />Board members present: Paul Jewell, Vice Chairman; Laura <br />Osiadacz, Commissioner; Obie O’Brien Absent <br /> <br />Others: Greg Zempel, Prosecutor; Angela Bugni, Legal Secretary <br />III; Pat Gigstead, Chief Probation Officer; Nick Henderson, <br />Coroner; Michael Stafford, Juvenile Court Administrator; Kari <br />Elkins, Juvenile Court Administrator Assistant; Kay Kresge, <br />Fiscal Analyst, Judy Pless, Budget and Finance Manager <br />SPECIAL MEETING COMMISSIONERS <br />2017 Preliminary Departmental Budget Discussions <br />Prosecutor, Misdemeanant Probation, Coroner, Juvenile <br /> <br /> <br />Prosecutor <br />Greg Zempel and Angela Bugni presented their 2017 preliminary <br />departmental budget. The following items were discussed: <br />Personnel – discussion of an IT person (joint position with the <br />courts and the transition to paperless), the receptionist <br />position. Commissioner Osiadacz asked is IT could assist with <br />this. Request to adjust wage for a deputy prosecutor, the <br />funding of BARS dues ($4200 per year for all attorneys); <br />software upgrade total $97,000. The Chief deputy prosecutor has <br />been elected to Superior Court Judge (salaries need to be looked <br />at); lease buy-out; cut special prosecutors line item, Greg <br />Zempel advised there will still be a special attorney so that <br />line item stays. <br /> <br /> <br />Misdemeanant Probation <br />Pat Gigstead presented the 2017 preliminary departmental budget. <br />The following items were discussed: Revenues are starting to <br />look better, the Ford Taurus has some electrical issues, inter- <br />fund rent contribution from the General Fund, adjusting fund <br />balance. <br /> <br />
