11/20/2017 MINUTES 1 <br /> COMMISSIONERS' MINUTES <br />KITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON <br />COMMISSIONERS CONFERENCE ROOM <br />REGULAR MEETING <br /> <br />MONDAY 9:40 A.M. NOVEMBER 20, 2017 <br /> <br />Board members present: Chairman Paul Jewell; Vice-Chairman Laura <br />Osiadacz & Commissioner Obie O’Brien. <br /> <br />Others: Mandy Buchholz, Deputy Clerk of the Board II; Jill Scheffer, <br />Event Center Director. <br /> <br />REGULAR MEETING DEPARTMENT HEAD EVENT CENTER <br /> <br />Jill Scheffer, Event Center Director presented the Board with an <br />aerial photo of the Event Center grounds. She asked the Board to <br />consider a right of way (ROW) vacation request and stated that the <br />City is in favor of the proposed location on Alder Street. <br /> <br />The Board authorized Ms. Scheffer to begin exploring the process and <br />expressed their support, noting they didn’t wish to exchange/trade <br />for other property and asked for Ms. Scheffer to report back. <br /> <br />Ms. Scheffer expressed her concerns for long time community events <br />that she has no contact information for, no contracts with, and yet <br />they expect the facility at no cost. She stated that Steve Johns who <br />has retired is the one who handled a lot of those events and just <br />knew how things were wanted and when he left all of the <br />institutional knowledge was gone.
