10/30/2017 MINUTES 1 <br />COMMISSIONERS' MINUTES <br />KITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON <br />COMMISSIONERS CONFERENCE ROOM <br />SPECIAL MEETING <br /> <br />MONDAY 1:30 P.M. OCTOBER 30, 2017 <br /> <br />Board members present: Vice-Chairman Laura Osiadacz; and <br />Commissioner Obie O’Brien. Excused: Chairman Paul Jewell. <br /> <br />Others: Julie Kjorsvik, Clerk of the Board; Mark Cook, Public Works <br />Director; and 1 member of the public. <br /> <br />SPECIAL MEETING BOWERS FIELD MAIN HANGAR PUBLIC WORKS <br /> <br />Vice-Chairman Osiadacz opened a Special Meeting to consider the sale <br />of a Main Hangar at the Bowers Field Airport. <br /> <br />Mark Cook, Public Works Director, provided information to the Board <br />on a request they received from a person who is interested in <br />purchasing the main hangar at the Bowers Field Airport. He said he <br />had approached the Airport Advisory Board about the request and they <br />were all unanimously opposed to it. He reviewed the costs of <br />maintaining the hangar properly; annual revenue that’s generated <br />through leases; and the process which would need to be adhered to if <br />the Board decided to go in the direction of selling the hangar. It <br />was noted the sale would only be for the hangar and not land. <br /> <br />Vice-Chairman Osiadacz said she was cautious about moving forward <br />too quickly and would like the chance to hold a joint meeting with <br />the Airport Advisory Board to hear their concerns of why they are <br />opposed to selling the hangar. Commissioner O’Brien agreed with <br />having a joint meeting to hear the reasoning behind opposing the <br />request.
