01/30/2017 MINUTES 1 <br /> COMMISSIONERS' MINUTES <br />KITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON <br />COMMISSIONERS CONFERENCE ROOM <br />REGULAR MEETING <br /> <br />MONDAY 9:50 A.M. JANUARY 30, 2017 <br /> <br />Board members present: Chairman Paul Jewell & Vice-Chairman Laura <br />Osiadacz and Commissioner Obie O’Brien. <br /> <br />Others: Mandy Buchholz, Deputy Clerk of the Board; Jim Goeben, IT <br />Director; Andrew Drain, Application Development Manager; Jason <br />Eklund, GIS Coordinator. <br /> <br />REGULAR MEETING DEPARTMENT HEAD INFO. TECH <br /> <br />Paul Jewell, Chairman explained that he asked Jim to request the <br />meeting with the Board. He explained that it is regarding a request <br />for consideration of a project that the Public Lands Advisory <br />Committee (PLAC) who would like to pursue with the County’s support. <br />Chairman Jewell explained that the PLAC would like the assistance of <br />the County GIS Staff to develop an App for smartphones that would be <br />an all-inclusive map that recreationist could download to use <br />throughout the year that would show the trails, hikes etc., that can <br />be used during different seasons. He stated that he thought it would <br />be a few hours a month and the data accumulation will take the most <br />time. He requested the Board allow funds to be used to develop the <br />app and the County could look into possibly charging for the app <br />pending the feedback received from the County Prosecutor. <br />Commissioner O’Brien stated he thought it was a great idea but <br />didn’t want it to consume a lot of their time.
