2016-06-21 MINUTES 1 <br />COMMISSIONERS' MINUTES <br />KITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON <br />COMMISSIONERS AUDITORIUM <br />SPECIAL MEETING <br /> <br />TUESDAY 4:00 P.M. JUNE 21, 2016 <br /> <br />Board members present: Chairman Obie O’Brien; Vice-Chairman Paul <br />Jewell; and Commissioner Laura Osiadacz. <br /> <br />Others: Julie Kjorsvik, Clerk of the Board and 5 members of the <br />Morning Rotary Club. <br /> <br />SPECIAL MEETING CIRCLE THE CITY TRAIL COMMISSIONERS <br /> <br />At 4:00 p.m. Chairman O’Brien opened a Special Meeting to <br />receive information and a report on Circle the City project. He <br />said the project is intended to improve the existing trails and <br />pathways and encircle the City of Ellensburg with a <br />comprehensive trail system. <br /> <br />Phil Backland explained how the project is sponsored by the <br />Ellensburg Morning Rotary Club and it will feature benches, <br />exercise equipment, and signage. Upon completion of the trail <br />it will be a total of approximately 13.1 miles; that of a half- <br />marathon. <br /> <br />Commissioner Jewell offered to be the contact person as there <br />could be grants available in the future since the County had <br />recently adopted a Recreational Plan.
