5/02/2011 MINUTES 1
COMMISSIONERS' MINUTES
KITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON
COMMISSIONERS CONFERENCE ROOM
REGULAR MEETING

MONDAY 10:00 A.M. MAY 2, 2011

Board members present: Chairman, Paul Jewell; Vice Chairman Alan
Crankovich; Commissioner, Obie O’Brien.

Others: Mandy Robinson, Deputy Clerk of the Board; Patti Johnson,
Solid Waste Director.

REGULAR MEETING DEPARTMENT HEAD SOLID WASTE

Patti Johnson, Solid Waste Director/Project Manager indicated that
prior to the Jail project getting underway they need to have someone
who deals with relocating fiber optics come in and do some
relocating. She indicated that she had received a quote from Charter
and with them re-using the same fiber optics that are already in the
ground, it will cost approximately $5,907.77. Commissioner O’Brien
questioned whether Ms. Johnson had contacted some of the other
businesses in town that work with fiber optics also. He felt that
getting bids from Prince Telecom and Fairpoint would be fair to
compare to Charter’s estimate.

Ms. Johnson indicated she would call and request estimates from the
two businesses Commissioner O’Brien suggested. She indicated that
time was of the essence and that Charter is requesting 30 days
notice prior to them beginning the work.

KITTITAS COUNTY COMMISSIONERS
DEPUTY CLERK OF THE BOARD KITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON

Mandy Robinson Paul Jewell, Commissioner
