05/28/2019 MINUTES 1

COMMISSIONERS' MINUTES
KITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON
COMMISSIONERS CONFERENCE ROOM
SPECIAL MEETING

TUESDAY 2:30 P.M. MAY 28, 2019

Board members present: Chairman Cory Wright; Vice-Chairman Brett
Wachsmith and Commissioner Laura Osiadacz.

Others: Mandy Buchholz, Deputy Clerk of the Board II; Dan Carlson, CDS
Director; Lindsey Ozbolt, Planning Official; Neil Caulkins, Deputy
Prosecutor and one member of the public.

SPECIAL MEETING PLANNING COMMISSION RECOMMENDATION CDS

At 2:30 p.m. Chairman Wright opened a Special Meeting to discuss the
Planning Commissions Comp Plan Hearing recommendations.

Dan Carlson, CDS Director explained that the Planning Commission failed
to bring forward a recommendation on the County Comp. Plan and since it
was a split vote. He reached out to Legal to see if it was even possible
to move forward. Neil Caulkins, Deputy Prosecutor stated that in fact
the Board could consider the Comp. Plan or the Board could remand it
back to the Planning Commission however; due to timelines it would
likely cause the Board to not make the deadline if they chose to remand
it back to the Planning Commission.

Lindsey Ozbolt, Planning Official reviewed the timeline and outreach
that had been done.

The Board determined they would move forward with the Public Hearing as
scheduled.

The meeting was adjourned at 2:45 p.m.

KITTITAS COUNTY COMMISSIONERS
DEPUTY CLERK OF THE BOARD KITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON

Mandy Buchholz Cory Wright, Chairman
