12/16/2019 MINUTES 1 <br /> <br /> <br /> COMMISSIONERS' MINUTES KITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON COMMISSIONER’S CONFERENCE ROOM SPECIAL MEETING MONDAY 11:00 A.M. DECEMBER 16, 2019 <br />Board members present: Chairman Cory Wright; Vice-Chairman Brett <br />Wachsmith and Commissioner Laura Osiadacz. <br /> <br />Others: Taylor Crouch, Deputy Clerk of the Board I; Jerry Pettit, <br />Auditor; Judy Pless, Budget and Finance Manager; Amy Cziske, Treasurer; <br />Lisa Murray, Administrative Assistant III; and Heather Siebert, Finance <br />Officer. <br /> SPECIAL MEETING BUDGET MANAGEMENT PROCESS COMMISSIONERS <br /> <br />At 11:00 a.m. Chairman Wright opened a Special Meeting to discuss the <br />overall Budget Management Process to gain knowledge of the process and <br />see where improvements could be made for the future. <br /> <br />Jerry Pettit, Auditor stated there is succession planning in place <br />currently and it is not being ignored. Mr. Pettit recommended that <br />instead of having the budget position reside within the BOCC Office, <br />that this position remain with the Auditor. Mr. Pettit recommended the <br />Board to look into a Research Analyst, someone aligned with BOCC <br />priorities to work as a strategic budget planner. <br /> <br />The Treasurer’s Office indicated that their Office may have the <br />capabilities to take back some of the duties the Auditor’s Office has <br />picked up historically. <br /> <br />A follow-up meeting will be scheduled to discuss the job duties of each <br />Office, the goals/plans for each Office, if there are functions that can <br />be automated, and the BOCC vision of the budget process. <br /> <br />The meeting was adjourned at 11:26 a.m. <br /> KITTITAS COUNTY COMMISSIONERS DEPUTY CLERK OF THE BOARD I KITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON Taylor Crouch Cory Wright, Chairman
