02/18/20 MINUTES 1 <br />COMMISSIONERS' MINUTES KITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON COMMISSIONERS CONFERENCE ROOM SPECIAL MEETING TUESDAY 8:30 A.M. FEBRUARY 18, 2020 <br />Board members present: Chairman Brett Wachsmith; Vice-Chair Laura <br />Osiadacz; and Commissioner Cory Wright. <br /> <br />Others: Taylor Crouch, Deputy Clerk of the Board I; Benjamin West, <br />Director of Airport Operations; Mark Cook, Public Works <br />Director/Interim Engineer; and 2 members of the public. <br /> SPECIAL MEETING ONE-WEEK AIRPORT UPDATE COMMISSIONERS <br />At 8:30 a.m. Chairman Wachsmith opened a Special Meeting to meet <br />with Benjamin West, the new Director of Airport Operations for a <br />one-week update. <br /> <br />Benjamin West, Director of Airport Operations updated the Board on <br />his first week on the job. <br /> <br />Mr. West informed the Board on the connections he was making in the <br />County with other staff as well as connections being made in the <br />community. Mr. West would like a closer relationship with the City <br />of Ellensburg than the historical relationships between the County <br />and City at the Airport. <br /> <br />Mr. West asked the Board to consider sending him to the Aviation <br />Conference in Seattle on February 22-23, 2020 to start networking. <br />The Board approved this request. <br /> <br />Staff was directed to schedule another follow-up meeting with Mr. <br />West and the Board. <br /> <br />Meeting adjourned at 9:00 a.m. <br /> KITTITAS COUNTY COMMISSIONERS DEPUTY CLERK OF THE BOARD I KITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON <br /> Taylor Crouch Brett Wachsmith, Chairman <br />
