2020-02-24 Minutes 1 Information Technology Commissioners’ Minutes Kittitas County, Washington Commissioners’ Conference Room Regular Meeting Monday 11:00 AM February 24, 2020 Board members present: Chair Brett Wachsmith, Vice-Chair Laura Osiadacz, Commissioner Cory Wright Others: IT Director Jim Goeben and Permit Technician Kathy Boots Regular Meeting Information Technology Meeting called to order at 11:00 AM. Request Authorization to Purchase GovQA for Public Records Request Management There was discussion about the potential savings in staff time by using off-the-shelf software designed to provide JLARC reporting matrices, the increased transparency with having requests and responses available to the public on a web portal, and potential funding sources. Kathy Boots, chair of the Records Management Committee, said the committee forwarded a favorable recommendation to the board. The board unanimously approved authorizing the purchase of GovQA and directed the cost be proportioned to the general fund and special revenue offices based on the number of requests received and directed the committee to pursue grant funding. Request Authorization to Extend County Computer Network to the Airport There was discussion about the cost of extending the county network to the airport over the City of Ellensburg’s Metropolitan Area Network for access by the Airport Manager, along with temporary options. The board directed Mr. Goeben to proceed with a temporary wireless connection and consider permanent options during budget discussions. Meeting adjourned at 11:37 AM.
