KITTITASCOUNTYSHERIFF'SOFFICEAGENDASTAFFREPORTAGENDADATE:Tuesday,February18,2020ACTIONREQUESTED:RequesttoApproveaResolutionAuthorizingExecutionoftheMemorandumofUnderstandingandInterlocalAgreementbetweentheBureauofLandManagementSpokaneDistrictOfficeandtheKittitasCountySheriffsOffice.BACKGROUND:TheSheriff'sOfficeandtheBureauofLandManagementhavehadanextensiverelationshipinyearspast.ThepurposeofthismemorandumofunderstandingprovidesforincreasedprotectionofpersonsandpropertyonthepubliclandsandroadsadministeredbytheUnitedStatesDepartmentoftheInterior,BureauofLandManagementthroughthecooperationbetweentheKittitasCountySheriff'sOfficeandBLM,bythegrantingandacceptanceofauthorityforBLMlawenforcementofficerstoenforceStateandlocallawsandregulationtothisMemorandumofUnderstanding.INTERACTION:TheKittitasCountyProsecutingAttorney'sOfficehasreviewedandapproved.RECOMMENDATION:RequesttoApproveaResolutionAuthorizingExecutionoftheMemorandumofUnderstandingandInterlocalAgreementbetweentheBureauofLandManagementSpokaneDistrictOfficeandtheKittitasCountySheriffsOffice.HANDLING:ReturnbothoriginalstotheSheriffsOffice.SheriffsOfficetoreturnoneoriginaltoBoarduponsignaturefromBureauofLandManagement.LEADSTAFF:CommandStaff.
