KITTITAS COUNTY <br />SHERIFF'S OFFICE <br />AGENDA STAFF REPORT <br />AGENDA DATE: September 3, 2019 <br />ACTION REQUESTED: Request to Acknowledge the Purchase of Nine X2 Taser Units <br />for the Kittitas County Sheriff s Office. <br />BACKGROUND: The Kittitas County Sheriff's Office needs to purchase nine new <br />Tasers, (2) for the Sheriff Reserve Deputy program, (1) for the new Operations <br />Commander position, (1) for the added Courthouse Security Position, (1) for a Sergeant <br />position, (2) Patrol Deputy positions, and (2) spare units. The agreement will: <br />-Purchase (9) X2 Taser units and accessories as per the contract. <br />-Includes Conducted Energy Weapon (CEW) hardware extended warranty coverage, <br />CEW products, and CEW accessories as listed in the quote provided by Axon. <br />Per Resolution 2017-123, the Sheriff is authorized to spend up to $10,000 at a time on <br />behalf of the County's needs. <br />INTERACTION: The purchase agreement was reviewed and approved by the Kittitas <br />County Prosecutor's Office. <br />RECOMMENDATION: Request to Acknowledge the Purchase of Nine X2 Taser <br />Units for the Kittitas County Sheriff's Office. <br />HANDLING: None. <br />LEAD STAFF: Command Staff <br />
