KITTITAS COUNTY <br />Board of County Commissioners <br /> <br />AGENDA STAFF REPORT <br /> <br />AGENDA DATE: August 6, 2019 <br /> <br />ACTION REQUESTED: Request Boards approval to lease of County owned property. <br /> <br /> <br />BACKGROUND: Kittitas County purchased the property at 1200 E University in 2016, at which time it was under an existing lease agreement. The previous lessee has decided to sell the <br />business which has resulted in the need for a new lease. The county has completed a boundary line adjustment to create a leasable parcel which includes the building at 1200 E. University <br />Way and a parking area behind the building. <br /> <br />The Olson’s have expressed interest in leasing the County owned property at 1200 E. University Way, Ellensburg, WA, CD. 571; TWN. EBURG; SHOUDYS 2ND ADD. LOTS 4 THROUGH 11 & PTN. VACATED <br />9TH BLOCK 78 and CD. 568; TWN. EBURG; SHOUDYS 2ND ADD. TAX NO. 1 OF LOTS 1, 2 & 16 BLOCK 77, and in accordance with RCW chapter 36.34 a public hearing was set. <br /> <br />The Prosecutor’s office and Accolade have work to determine a fair market value for the building and have developed the proposed lease agreement. <br /> <br />INTERACTION: Prosecutors office, Accolade and Patti Johnson <br /> <br />RECOMMENDATION: Recommend approval of the lease with the Olson’s for the property at 1200 E.
