MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING Between Kittitas County Health Network and Kittitas County Sheriffs Office PURPOSE and SCOPE The purpose of the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) RCORP-Planning project is to support prevention of and treatment for substance use disorders, including op ioid use disorder (OUD). The overa ll goal of the program is to reduce the morbidity and mortality associ ated w i th opioid overdoses in high -risk rural communities by strengthening the capacity of multi-sector consortiums to address one or more of three focus areas at community, county, state, and/or regional levels : (1) Prevention-reducing the occurrence of opioid addiction among new and at-risk users as well as fatal opioid-related overdo ses through community and provider education and harm reduction measures including the strategic placement of overdose reversing devices, such as naloxone; (2) Treatment- implementing or e,cpanding access to evidence -based practices for OUD treatment, such as medication- assisted treatment {MAT); and {3) Recovery-e,cpanding peer recovery and treatment options that help people start and stay in recovery . Kittitas County Health Network (KCHN), via Kittitas Valley Healthcare, has been awarded an RCORP- Planning grant that will benefit Kittitas County and consort ium members (hereinafter referred to as "Collaborators") by: • Developing a strategic plan for addressing OUO prevention, treatment, and recovery • Developing a workforce plan for QUO prevention, treatment, and recovery services • Developing a sustainability plan for CUD prevention, treatment, and recovery services • Increasing community capacity to provide Medication Assisted Treatment • Increasing community awareness of OUD and prevention, treatment, and recovery services This Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) clearly identifies the roles and responsibilities of KCHN and Collaborators. DURATION This MOU shall become effective upon signature by the duly authorized represe ntatives of t he Collaborators and KCHN and will remain in effect for the d ur at ion of the funding period for the HRSA RCORP-Pla nn ing Project unless modified by mutual consent aA d executed In w ritl ng by the au tho rized representativ es of all parties. The MOU is at-will and may be terrni nated by any pa rty at an any t ime upon written notice to the other party . FUNDING There is no fundi ng provided under this MOU. Funding is specified in separate Letters of Agreement.
