KITTITAS COUNTY <br />SHERIFF'S OFFICE <br />AGENDA STAFF REPORT <br />AGENDA DATE: Tuesday, April 16, 2019 <br />ACTION REQUESTED: Request to Approve Resolution amending previously passed <br />Resolution 2018-148 awarding funding for grants pursuant to Law and Justice Council <br />recommendations on spending of 1 / 10th of 1% Sales Tax Reserves <br />BACKGROUND: The Law and Justice Council annually requests $5,000 from Law and <br />Justice Grant funds to be set aside for any special training opportunities that come up <br />during the year that will benefit the Criminal Justice agencies and this year the Law and <br />Justice Council has the opportunity to sponsor some excellent training on "Implicit Bias <br />and Cultural Competence," as described in the letter from Sheriff Dana dated March 4, <br />2019. The cost is $7,500.00 for two separate 100 person workshops that would be held <br />on May 10th at CWU. <br />INTERACTION: The Kittitas County Prosecutor's Office has reviewed and approved <br />this amendment. <br />RECOMMENDATION: Request to Approve Amending previously passed Resolution <br />2018-148 awarding funding for grants pursuant to Law and Justice Council <br />recommendations on spending of 1/10111 of 1% Sales Tax Reserves <br />HANDLING: Please return one signed copy to the Sheriff s Office. <br />LEAD STAFF: Command Staff <br />
