Kittitas County
Solid Waste

Agenda Staff Report

AGENDA DATE:
3/19/2019

ACTION REQUESTED:
Request Boards approval for Chairs signature on Amendment with CH2M/Jacobs for the permit phase of the
new transfer station location.

BACKGROUND:
In 2016 Kittitas County Solid Waste started the site selection process for relocating the Ellensburg transfer
station and hired CH2M/Jacobs. In 2018 the final site selection was made and the County purchased the
property off of the highway 97. January of this year a pre-application meeting was held with the City of
Ellensburg, CH2M/Jacobs and Kittitas County Solid Waste to determine the process that would be needed
for the permitting of the new site. The amendment to CH2M/Jacobs professional service agreement
provides a time line and cost associated with fulfilling the permitting requirements outlined by the City.

INTERACTION:
Prosecutor's office, CH2M/Jacobs, Solid Waste

RECOMMENDATION:
Recommend Boards approval for the Chairs signature on Amendment #5 with CH2M/Jacobs for the
permitting on the new transfer station location.

HANDLING:

LEAD STAFF:
Patti Johnson
