<br /> <br />KITTITAS COUNTY <br />Board of County Commissioners <br /> <br />AGENDA STAFF REPORT <br /> <br />AGENDA DATE: February 19, 2019 <br /> <br />ACTION REQUESTED: Request the Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) sign a <br />Resolution allocating $136,041.50 of Hotel/Motel Funds towards the <br />2019 Lodging Tax Fund Grants Program for Special Events and <br />Projects. <br /> <br /> <br />BACKGROUND: The Cities of Ellensburg, Roslyn and Cle Elum along with Kittitas <br />County have an Interlocal Agreement in place to create a consolidated <br />lodging tax grant process for special events and projects. They each <br />signed an Amendment to the Interlocal Agreement stating each entity <br />will dedicate 13% of their lodging tax funds to the Consolidated <br />Lodging Tax process. The Consolidated Lodging Tax Advisory <br />Committee Work Group met in an open public meeting on November <br />16, 2018 and deliberated to reach a final funding recommendation to <br />be forwarded to each entity’s legislative body for final approval. <br /> <br />INTERACTION: The Consolidated Work Group recommended expending $237,584.50 <br />of lodging tax funding to be designated for special events and <br />projects.
