KITTITAS COUNTY <br />DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS <br />AGENDA STAFF REPORT <br />AGENDA DATE: February 5, 2019 <br />ACTION REQUESTED: Request to Set a Public Hearing on February 19, <br />2019 at 2:00 pm to Consider a Speed Reduction on <br />Umptanum Road and Amend Kittitas County Code <br />Section 10.08.020 and Section 10.08.030 Speed <br />Limits <br />BACKGROUND: Kittitas County Department of Public received a <br />request from Rob and Louise Acheson to consider <br />reducing the speed on Umptanum Road for a <br />distance of approximately 2.25 miles. A speed <br />study was conducted and Public Works is <br />requesting to set a Public Hearing to review the <br />results of said speed study and consider the speed <br />reduction from fifty (50) miles per hour to thirty- <br />five (35) miles per hour. <br />INTERACTION: <br />Public Works <br />RECOMMENDATION: Set a Public Hearing for February 19, 2019 at 2:00 <br />pm to consider a speed reduction on Umptanum <br />Road and Amend Kittitas County Code Section <br />10.08.020 and Section 10.08.030 Speed Limits <br />HANDLING: Return one Notice of Public Hearing to Public <br />Works <br />ATTACHMENTS: Notice of Public Hearing <br />LEAD STAFF: Mark Cook, Director <br />
