KITTITAS COUNTY <br />SHERIFF'S OFFICE <br />AGENDA STAFF REPORT <br />AGENDA DATE: December 18, 2018 <br />ACTION REQUESTED: Request to Approve a Resolution Authorizing Execution of an <br />Interlocal Agreement Between the City of Ellensburg, Washington and the County of <br />Kittitas, Washington for the Housing of Inmates. <br />BACKGROUND: This Interlocal Agreement is between the City of Ellensburg and <br />Kittitas County for the Housing of Inmates from January 1, 2019 -December 31, 2020. <br />The daily rate proposed is $64.50/day in 2019 and $66.50/day in 2020 (approximately a <br />3% increase). There will be a discount for inmate workers from EPD, with a cost of <br />$42/day for each day that an inmate is eligible to serve as an inmate worker. <br />INTERACTION: The Kittitas County Prosecutor's Office has reviewed and approved <br />this Interlocal Agreement. <br />RECOMMENDATION: Request to Approve a Resolution Authorizing Execution of an <br />Interlocal Agreement between the City of Ellensburg, Washington and the County of <br />Kittitas, Washington for the housing of inmates. <br />HANDLING: Please return one fully executed original to KCSO, which we will <br />provide to the City for its records. <br />LEAD STAFF: Undersheriff Clay Myers <br />
