KITTITAS COUNTY <br />DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS <br />AGENDA STAFF REPORT <br />AGENDA DATE: August 7, 2018 <br />ACTION REQUESTED: Request to Authorize the Board's signature on the <br />Professional Services Agreement with Century West for <br />Bowers Field Environmental Services <br />BACKGROUND: Public Works (PW) has been negotiating with Century <br />West for the past several months securing FAA approval of <br />professional environmental services supporting the Capital <br />Improvement Plan at Bowers Field. Recently, the FAA <br />accepted our record of negotiation and cleared the way for <br />contracting. The total cost for services is $332,000. PW <br />cost share is ten percent (10%) equal to $33,200. PW has a <br />grant application with WSDOT Aviation for five percent <br />(5%) of the match fund cost equal to $16,600. <br />PW is using our standard professional services agreement <br />as approved by the Board's attorney. <br />PW has received grant funding documents from the FAA in <br />the amount of $302,470. The Airport Fund has sufficient <br />funding to cover the entire required match obligation in the <br />absence of WSDOT funding support. <br />INTERACTION: Public Works <br />RECOMMENDATION: Sign the professional services agreement with Century <br />West Engineering for environmental services at Bowers <br />Field. <br />HANDLING: Return one original to Public Works <br />ATTACHMENTS: Exhibit 1: Resolution with contract attachment <br />LEAD STAFF: Mark R.
