KITTITAS COUNTY <br />DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS <br />AGENDA STAFF REPORT <br />AGENDA DATE: June 19`h, 2018 <br />ACTION REQUESTED: Authorize the Chair Sign the Revised Certification <br />Acceptance Qualification Agreement with Washington <br />State Department of Transportation Local Programs <br />BACKGROUND: Kittitas County Department of Public Works (PW) is <br />currently a Certified Agency with Washington State <br />Department of Transportation (WSDOT) allowing us to <br />manage federally funded projects. The current cooperative <br />agreement (CA) does not contemplate having a licensed <br />Public Works Director. <br />The proposed CA allows either the County Engineer or <br />Licensed Public Works Director to sign numerous <br />documents required by Local Programs for state and <br />federally funded construction projects. The added <br />flexibility supports delivering projects on tights timelines <br />using either the County Engineer's authority or that of the <br />Licensed Director. <br />INTERACTION: Public Works <br />RECOMMENDATION: Authorize the Chair's signature on Revised Certification <br />Acceptance Qualification Agreement with Washington <br />State Department of Transportation Local Programs. <br />HANDLING: Return one original to Public Works. <br />ATTACHMENTS: Resolution, Certification Acceptance Qualification <br />Agreement <br />LEAD STAFF: Mark R.
