KITTITAS COUNTY <br />BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />STATE OF WASHINGTON <br />RESOLUTION NO. c/O/ 7-/q "1- <br />A RESOLUTION AMENDING PAY SCHEDULE FOR <br />DISTRICT COURT JUDGE PRO TEMS <br />WHEREAS, RCW 3.34.130 requires the Board of County Commissioners to set the salaries for <br />Kittitas County District Court Judge Pro Terns; and <br />WHEREAS, The Board of County Commissioners last revised the salaries for District Court <br />Judge Pro Terns in 2008 ; and <br />WHEREAS, Resolution 2008-130 established Judge Pro Tern rates as attorneys having an <br />hourly rate of $70 .00, and <br />WHEREAS, There has been no cost of living adjustment made to the compensation rate since <br />2008; and <br />WHEREAS It is important that the District Courts pay sufficient compensation to find attorneys <br />willing to serve as judge pro terns; and <br />WHEREAS, The Board of County Commissioners finds that an amendment increasing the <br />compensation rate for judge pro terns to be in the best interest ofthe pUblic. <br />NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that Board of County Commissioners, in the best <br />interest of the public, does hereby establish that the salaries paid to District Court Judge Pro <br />Terns in Upper and Lower Kittitas County District Courts is the rate of $85.00 per hour with a <br />minimum salary payment of$150.00 if the pro tern hears any cases . These new rates will replace <br />those established in Resolution 2008-130 and go into effect on January I, 2018. <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that if an attorney is scheduled to serve as ajudge pro tem and <br />the matter is resolved or cancelled on the day of the hearing so that the assigned pro tern does not <br />hear any cases, the district court may pay the assigned judge pro tem a one hour salary of$85 as <br />compensation for their standby availability .
