BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />COUNTY OF KITTITAS <br />STATE OF WASHINGTON <br />RESOLUTION <br />NO. ,;)IJ 17-/ Lf7 <br />A RESOLUTION APPROVING FUNDING FOR 2018 CONSOLIDATED LODGING TAX <br />GRANT PROCESS FOR SPECIAL EVENTS AND PROJECTS <br />WHEREAS: Kittitas County imposes a lodging tax assessed on the sale or charge made for furnishings <br />oflodging according to R.C.W. 67.28.180 and R.C.W. 67.28.181; and <br />WHEREAS: In accordance with the aforementioned R.C.W.'s a Lodging Tax Advisory Committee has <br />been established; and <br />WHEREAS: In accordance with R.C.W. 67.28.1816, lodging tax revenues may be used, directly or <br />indirectly through a convention and visitor bureau or destination marketing organization <br />for tourism marketing, the marketing and operations of special events and festivals <br />designed to attract tourists, and supporting the operations of tourism-related facilities <br />owned or operated by nonprofit organizations described under 26 U.S.C. Sec. 501(c)(3) <br />and 26 U.S.c. Sec. 501 (c)(6) of the internal revenue code of 1986 as amended; and <br />WHEREAS: The County, through the Lodging Tax Advisory Committee, has established a grant <br />application and review process to consider proposals for using such funds in cooperation <br />with the Cities of Roslyn, Cle Elum and Ellensburg; and <br />WHEREAS: The County and the Cities of Roslyn, C1e E1um and Ellensburg have all signed an <br />interloca1 agreement defining the terms of the consolidated process for this grant process; <br />and <br />WHEREAS: The Kittitas County Lodging Tax Advisory Committee made recommendation to the <br />Board of County Commissioners that $165,000 be allocated from lodging tax funds for <br />the 2018 grant process; and <br />WHEREAS: The Board of County Commissioners agreed with the Lodging Tax Advisory <br />Committee's recommendation. <br />NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: That Kittitas County hereby accepts the recommendation <br />of the Kittitas County Lodging Tax Advisory Committee and allocates up to $165,000 for the 2018 <br />Consolidated Lodging Tax Grant Process for Special Events and Projects. <br />ADOPTED this 5t day of SeJ;Jt; , , 2017 <br />BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />OUNTY, WASHINGTON
