BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />COUNTY OF KITTITAS <br />STATE OF WASHINGTON <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2017-I I Cj <br />A Resolution to Call a Special Election to Determine if the <br />City of Kittitas Should Be Annexed to Kittitas County Fire District #2 <br />WHEREAS, The City of Kittitas, on July 24, 2017, passed Ordinance No. 17-013 stating an <br />intent to join Kittitas County Fire District #2 and declaring that the public interest <br />will be served thereby; and <br />WHEREAS, Kittitas County Fire District #2, on July 25,2017, passed Resolution No. 17-10, <br />concurring in the above mentioned annexation ; and <br />WHEREAS, Kittitas County Fire District #2 transmitted notification of the above mentioned <br />legislative activity to the Kittitas County Board of County Commissioners, and <br />WHEREAS, RCW 52.04 .071 states that, upon receipt of the above described decisions and <br />corresponding legislative acts, "The county legislative authority ... shall by <br />resolution call a special election to be held in the city or town and in the fire <br />protection district at the next date provided in RCW [29A.04.321]." <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, <br />1. A special election shall be called in the City of Kittitas and in the current boundaries of <br />Kittitas County Fire District #2 to determine if The City of Kittitas should be annexed to <br />Kittitas County Fire District #2; <br />2. The above called election shall occur on the next date provided by RCW 29A.04 .321, <br />and notice thereof shall be given as provided by RCW 29A.52 .351 ; and <br />3. The ballot title shall be in substantially the following form : <br />PROPOSITION 1 <br />CITY OF KITTITAS AND KITTITAS COUNTY FIRE DISTRICT #2 <br />ANNEXATION PROPOSITION <br />Shall the City of Kittitas be annexed to and be a part of Kittitas County Fire District #2, effective <br />January 1, 2018? <br />Yes No ------ <br />1
