KITTITAS COUNTY <br />BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />AGENDA STAFF REPORT <br /> <br />AGENDA DATE: May 1, 2018 <br /> <br />ACTION REQUESTED: Request to approve a Resolution authorizing an <br />Amendment to the September 6, 2016 Youth Sports <br />Scholarship Program Contract with HopeSouce. <br /> <br />BACKGROUND: The Board recently entered into a contract with Community <br />Builders to provide seeking funding for the Upper County <br />Youth Program that occurs during the summer month. <br />Funding for that program is provided by the retail rental car <br />1% sales tax that has been utilized in the past by the county <br />in a contract with Hopesource to provide scholarships for <br />youth athletic activities across the county. This Amendment <br />adopts a new budget for the Hopesource administered <br />program, removing the funding dedicated to the <br />Community Builders contract. It also amends the program <br />guidelines. <br /> <br />INTERACTION: Commissioner Jewell was directed to prepare the <br />Amendment after the Board took action on an Agreement <br />rededicating funding to Community Builders who put on <br />events in Upper County for the Youth in that area. <br /> <br />RECOMMENDATION: Approve the Amendment & Resolution as presented <br /> <br />HANDLING: 1- Original Clerk <br /> 1- Original HopeSource <br />1-Copy to Judy Pless, Budget & Finance Manager <br /> <br />ATTACHMENTS: ~ Amendment & Resolution. <br /> <br />LEAD STAFF: Paul Jewell, County Commissioner
