BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />COUNTY OF KITTITAS <br />STATE OF WASHINGTON <br /> <br />RESOLUTION <br />NO. 2017-_______ <br /> <br />RESOLUTION TO ADOPT THE KITTITAS VALLEY EVENT CENTER POLICY AND <br />REDUCTION RATE FOR COUNTY RESERVATIONS <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Kittitas Valley Event Center has various facilities, with differing rental rates, available for <br />use for public and private events held throughout the year; and <br />WHEREAS, resolution 2006-64, adopted April 18, 2005, provides for an event space fee waiver for <br />Kittitas County Departments and Agencies to use event center facilities for specific uses <br />and following certain conditions; and <br />WHEREAS, the previously imposed conditions necessary to invoke the fee waiver have either not been <br />strictly adhered to or have been insufficient in preserving facility space priority for paying <br />customers, the income from which is vital to the Kittitas Valley Event Center operations; <br />and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Kittitas Valley Event Center has experienced a substantial increase in the demand for <br /> rental space in the last few years; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Kittitas Valley Event Center recognizes the importance of accommodating County <br />Department and Agency needs for event space; and <br />WHEREAS, the Kittitas Valley Event Center desires to balance the needs of the Event Center and <br />various County Departments by adopting a policy that allows for priority use of the event <br />space for paying customers while still providing options, either free of charge or for a <br />reduced fee in certain situations, to County Departments as proposed in the attached <br />Kittitas Valley Event Center Policy and Reduction Rate for County Reservations; <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of County Commissioners of Kittitas County, <br />Washington, hereby adopts the Kittitas Valley Event Center Policy and Reduction Rate for <br />County Reservations, which is attached hereto and incorporated by reference. <br />DATED this __________ day of ____________________, 2017, at Ellensburg, Washington. <br /> <br /> BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br /> KITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON <br /> <br /> __________________________________________ <br /> Chair <br /> <br /> __________________________________________ <br /> Vice-Chair <br /> <br /> __________________________________________ <br /> Commissioner <br />ATTEST: <br />
