BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />COUNTY OF KITTITAS <br />STATE OF WASHINGTON <br /> <br />RESOLUTION <br />NO. 2016-_______ <br /> <br />RESOLUTION TO RESTRUCTURE AND RENAME THE KITTITAS COUNTY <br />MENTAL HEALTH ADVISORY BOARD <br /> <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Washington State has combined Mental Health Services and Substance Use <br />Disorder Services into one Department of Behavioral Health and Recovery <br />(DBHR) as of April 1, 2016 and, <br />WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners has established advisory boards for mental <br />health and developmental disabilities programs, pursuant to RCW 71A.14.020 <br />and chapter 71.24 RCW, in order to make recommendations to the Board of <br />County Commissioners relating to mental health and developmental disabilities <br />issues and services; and <br />WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners has established an alcohol/substance abuse <br />advisory board, pursuant to RCW 70.96A.300, in order to make recommendations <br />to the Board of County Commissioners relating to alcohol and substance abuse <br />issues; and <br />WHEREAS, the Developmental Disability Advisory Board is currently combined with the <br />Mental Health Advisory Board; and <br />WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners desires to separate the Developmental <br />Disability Advisory Board from the Mental Health Advisory Board; and <br />WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners desires to combine the Mental Health <br />Advisory Board with the Substance Abuse Advisory Board; and <br />WHEREAS, the newly combined Board should be named the Behavioral Health and Recovery <br />Advisory Board; and <br />WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners deems the restructuring and renaming of the <br />Board’s to be in the best interest of Kittitas County; and <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of County Commissioners of <br />Kittitas County, Washington, hereby separates the Mental Health Advisory Board <br />from the Developmental Disability Advisory Board and combines it with the <br />Substance Abuse Advisory Board and renames it the Behavioral Health and <br />Recovery Advisory Board. <br />BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED, that such amendment shall be effective July 1, 2016.
