KITTITAS COUNTY <br />Board of County Commissioners <br /> <br />AGENDA STAFF REPORT <br /> <br />AGENDA DATE: March 1, 2016 <br /> <br />ACTION REQUESTED: Approve Claim of Jennifer & Michael Backstrom. <br /> <br /> <br />BACKGROUND: The claimants, Jennifer & Michael Backstrom, claim their mailbox <br />was damaged by a Kittitas County snowplow driven by a Public <br />Works employee. Total amount claimed: $21.59. Kittitas County <br />Claim # 201601250079. <br /> <br />INTERACTION: Claimants submitted a receipt from ACE Hardware indicating the <br />purchase of a new mailbox for a total of $21.59. <br /> <br /> Public Works confirmed county snowplow operations occurred at the <br />day and place of the incident described in the claim. Public Works <br />also confirmed the damages claimed are consistent with damages <br />caused by snowplow operations. For these reasons, Public Works <br />recommends approval of this claim. <br /> <br /> The Prosecutor’s Office and WCRP also recommend approval of this <br />claim.
