This year’s theme is “Safe and Secure in Kittitas County”.

The Kittitas County Board of Commissioners office will judge the entries that most represent
Kittitas County and the theme on Friday April 1, 2016. The Board of County Commissioners will
award a season’s pass to the 2016 Kittitas County Fair during Labor Day weekend to three
students from each class who participates!

We will display all of the entries throughout the Kittitas County Courthouse beginning April 1st
through April 22nd. Upon the conclusion of National County Government Month our office will
contact each teacher whose class participated in the event to schedule a time for a Commissioner
to either come in to their classroom or for a brief award presentation at an assembly. All entries
will be returned to you once they have been displayed.

Attached is a page that can be copied and distributed to each child in your class. Please be sure
to have the children print their first name, school, grade, and teacher at the bottom prior to
returning them to our office. All entries must be returned to the Kittitas County Commissioner’s
office no later than Tuesday March 29, 2016 by 5:00 p.m. Please return your class entries to
205 West 5th – Room 108 Ellensburg, Washington 98926. If you have any questions, please
contact Julie Kjorsvik, Clerk of the Board at 962-7508. Once again we are looking forward to
seeing the creativity from the children in Kittitas County! Thank you.

Sincerely,
THE KITTITAS COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS

Obie O’Brien, Chairman

Paul Jewell, Vice-Chairman

Gary Berndt, Commissioner
