Kittitas County <br />Auditor <br /> <br />Agenda Staff Report <br /> <br />AGENDA DATE: <br />8/1/2017 <br /> <br />ACTION REQUESTED: <br />Adopt a Resolution to Call for a Special Election to Determine if the City of Kittitas Should Be Annexed to <br />Kittitas County Fire District #2. <br /> <br />BACKGROUND: <br />The City of Kittitas has adopted and ordinance and Kittitas County Fire District #2 has adopted a resolution <br />to call for a Special Election to determine if the City of Kittitas should be annexed to Kittitas County Fire <br />District #2. It is the responsibility of the Board of County Commissioners to call for the Special Election as <br />requested by the City of Kittitas and Kittitas County Fire District #2 per statute. The Ordinance adopted by <br />the City of Kittitas and the Resolution adopted by the Kittitas Fire District #2 are attached. <br /> <br />INTERACTION: <br />City of Kittitas, Kittitas County Fire District #2, County Prosecuting Attorney and attorney for the City of <br />Kittitas <br /> <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Adopt a Resolution to Call for a Special Election to Determine if the City of Kittitas Should Be Annexed to <br />Kittitas County Fire District #2. <br /> <br />HANDLING: <br />This Resolution must be signed by the Commissioners and delivered to the County Auditor no later than 5 <br />pm August 1st, the legal deadline for this issue to be on the November 7 General Election. <br /> <br />LEAD STAFF: <br />Jerry Pettit <br />
