KITTITAS COUNTY <br />SHERIFF'S OFFICE <br />AGENDA STAFF REPORT <br />AGENDA DATE: August 1, 2017 <br />ACTION REQUESTED: Request to Approve a Resolution granting the Sheriff of <br />Kittitas County the authority to enter into extra duty employment contracts for deputy <br />sheriffs. <br />BACKGROUND: The Board of County Commissioners has the authority to make such <br />contracts as may be necessary to their corporate or administrative powers, and to do all <br />necessary acts in relation to the property of the County pursuant to RCW 36.01.010, and <br />whereas the Board has delegated to the County Sheriff specific authority regarding the <br />Board's authority to negotiate, enter into, or approve contracts for various obligations <br />with a value of less than $10,000 dollars as allowed by law. <br />INTERACTION: The Kittitas County Prosecuting Attorney's Office has reviewed and <br />approved. <br />RECOMMENDATION: Request to Approve a Resolution approving the Sheriff of <br />Kittitas County's authority to enter into extra duty employment contracts for deputy <br />sheriffs. <br />HANDLING: Return one original to the Sheriff's Office. <br />LEAD STAFF: Command Staff <br />
