KITTITAS COUNTY <br />Board of County Commissioners <br /> <br />AGENDA STAFF REPORT <br /> <br />AGENDA DATE: <br /> <br />ACTION REQUESTED: Approve the Resolution of Declaration of Emergency for the water <br /> line repair at the Event Center. <br /> <br /> <br />BACKGROUND: On January 5, 2017, The City of Ellensburg notified Event Center <br />Staff that they needed to turn off the water main located by The City <br />Pool, once the City made their repairs and turned the main back on <br />water began gushing around the Women’s bathroom next to Heritage <br />and Naneum setting the Fire Alarm System off. Maintenance staff at <br />the Event Center shut the water off to the Grandstands meeting rooms <br />and bathrooms. After identifying the reason for the waterline <br />break/explosion and that there would be no domestic water to <br />Naneum. The Interim Director of the Event Center instructed staff to <br />contact a plumber to determine the issue and repair. Time constraints <br />due to contractual obligations for Event Center users did not allow for <br />bidding and the plumber that had been used in the past was contacted. <br /> <br />INTERACTION: The City of Ellensburg.
